Hyundai has unveiled the next-generation Accent, and it is bigger than ever. The larger 2018 Accent gains 0.6 inches in length and 1.14 inches in width. The 2018 Hyundai Accent will be coming to Riverhead Hyundai near the end of this year.
With the redesign, the new Accent more closely matches the style of its larger siblings. Both the front and rear ends now resemble the Elantra, with a hexagonal grille and wraparound taillights.
Inside, buyers will see more changes. Most noticeable is the new infotainment screen that is built into the dashboard as opposed to being a “floating” screen. In addition, buyers will appreciate the vehicle’s simple design with splashes of color to liven up the interior. There will also be a few premium features available like heated front seats.
Powering the new Accent will be a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 132 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque. This will be paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. While this is the same engine as before, it has been returned to improve acceleration and boost efficiency by about 7%.
Buyers will also be able to opt for advanced safety features in the form of autonomous emergency braking.
Here at Riverhead Hyundai, we can’t wait to see the new, larger 2018 Accent on our showroom floor.
